While most people’s taste in what is attractive varies, most would agree that Anubis Rameses is a very attractive man. He has dark brown hair that he usually keeps about two inches long at the most, spiked up and styled in a variety of ways. It tends to have a bit of a tussled look, like someone has just run his or her fingers through it. He tends to have a bit of stubble, a five o’clock shadow that dances across his strong jaw. Sometimes this will grow to about a quarter of an inch but never longer than that. He sometimes will go clean shaven, especially for more formal occasions. He typically does have a bit of a scruffy but sexy look, a “just got out of bed” look as some might call it. His hair is naturally very soft and silky, never messy, oily, or tangled. With his dark hair, his eyes are set in sharp contrast. He has pale green-gray eyes that are the color of a calm sea before the stormy tempest hits. His lips are masculine and average in size for a man. He has average cheekbones and a German nose. Dark eyebrows arch over his pale eyes.
But Anu does not just have an attractive face. His body is muscular and fit, athletic and lean. His chest is chiseled and defined, a nice six-pack adorning it. His chest measures thirty-nine inches in diameter and tappers down to a thirty-three inch waist with thirty-seven inch hips. His hip bones are angled out, forming that beloved V-shape that leads down to his happy trail. He has a very low fat to muscle ratio and is incredibly fit and healthy. (click for a visual). Anu’s skin is toned bronze with a healthy glow to it, a deeply ingrained part of him from his Egyptian heritage. From before he gained his healing ability, he does still have a few scars here and there adorning his body. There is nothing gruesome, but he did not go unmarked from his extensive training with a sword and other weapons. On his upper left forearm, he has a tattoo of a jackal, his associated animal as the head Egyptian God of the afterlife. It has one pierced ear with a hoop through it and over all is very sharp and royal, almost feline in characteristic even, with a color around his neck with the Egyptian symbol for eternal life on it.
As the Egyptian God, Anubis appeared with the body of a man but the head of a jackal. This jackal head was black with big perked ears. He also tended to appear with a large bushy tail. He gained this form once he had mutated into the second order and had become a jackal shapeshifter. When he transforms himself into a jackal, a member of the canis meomelas, he takes the form of a medium-sized carnivore with doglike features and a bushy tail. Of all the jackal species, he sticks out a little because he is completely black, glossy, and with pale gray-green eyes. Of the jackal species, he resembles the black-backed jackal the most because they are more slender and upstanding with noticeably larger ears, than the other species of jackal. The average jackal is somewhere between eight and thirty-five inches long and weighs between thirteen and twenty-six pounds but Anubis is rather larger when he transforms. He is about fifty inches long with a twenty inch long tail and weighs approximately thirty-six pounds. He has a slender build, his muzzle long and pointed with large, pointed ears. This animal suites him well as it is often associated with death and evil spirits. With time, he became able to transform into any type of mammal but he prefers this form.
After originally becoming infected by the meteor, Anu became an okamimi, humanoid creature but with the fuzzy pointed ears and tail of a jackal. These ears and tail were black in coloring. He gained enhanced senses and could smell and hear things no one else could. The fur on his ears and tail was silky soft and glossy, very well groomed. His canines also grew slightly longer and more pointed, barely noticeably so, but still. Other than those things, Anu was still human. But it was hard to look past the ears and tail.

•• PERSONALITY ;;
The alpha dog. When Anu looks around him and looks at people, the first thing he thinks about is what to categorize them as. And for him, there are only two categories. Alpha dogs and underdogs. Those who fought to be on top and those that submitted. In the ranks of a pack, Anubis was always an alpha. He didn’t take orders from others and was incredibly aggressive to anyone, especially another male, who threatened his status. Due to this, Anubis did not work well when he was forced to work with other alphas as he did not back off when it came to what he wanted to do. He loved power and once he got his hands on it, he fought that much harder to keep it. Born as the bastard child of the Egyptian pharaoh and the pharaoh’s cousin, the daughter of the pharaoh’s father’s brother and his German wife, a Germanic princess who had been married into the Egyptian royal family for trade access and other conveniences, Anu had to fight for everything he had. Back then he was not considered an abomination - it was perfectly common for a man to marry his sister or daughter to preserve the bloodline. The problem was that he had been born out of wedlock and the wife of his father and the husband of his mother wanted to get rid of him at all costs. Due to this beginning to his life, Anu fights for every scrap he can get and he fights tooth and nail to keep it. Now, he has almost anything he could ask for... but he is still terrified of losing everything.
The control freak. His dog genes don’t take any shit from others when it came to control and Anubis will fight with everything he’s got to get to the top and stay there. In every situation, Anu needs to be the one in control. He needs to be in the loop and he needs to be the one making all the decisions, or at least be asked for his approval for something. Anu does not share power. Not any more at least. There was once someone who he viewed as an equal, someone he grew to love and respect... but he lost her and could do nothing but weep as she died in his arms. Ever since he lost her, no one has managed to raise to the level of equal in his eyes. The only one who ever got close is a beautiful redhead by the name of Zephyra who was Sekhmet in Egyptian mythology. He has very little contact with her now and while he has no romantic feels for her, they did have a few flings throughout the millennia and he has been impressed on more than one occasion by her power and beauty. But even when it comes to her, he still refuses to let go of the reins. It was the main reason they knew that they would never work out and why neither had put much effort into an actual relationship between the two of them.
The stubborn badass. Okay. You’ve got to admit that Anubis is pretty badass. He is a master of many styles of martial arts and is neigh unbeatable with a sword. He is powerful and clever, quick-witted and quite a superb specimen of a man. Women tend to flock to him in droves and, unfortunately, he does not treat them all that well. He beats down on himself quite a lot though. He always warns women that he is not the knight in shining armor that they think or want him to be but rather than he is a black knight, no good for anyone. And yet... women seem to love this about him, something he simply cannot fathom, as they always leave cursing him and hating him when they realize that he does not love them, does not want to, and all he wanted from them was some pleasure and fun. Oh the finickiness of women. Anu can be a bit cocky at times and has a habit of taking things for granted - something that many women absolutely hate about him - but after Bastet died, women mean nothing to him. Or, at least, that’s what he tells himself and he refuses to allow himself to ever get close to another woman. In his opinion, they can only bring trouble with them and heartbreak.
After reading all of that, you might have come to think of Anubis as a complete and utter jackass but in reality, he is a secret softy. Once, a very long time ago, he fell in love with a beautiful Egyptian princess named Bastet. Long story short, she died, and Anubis was so heartbroken by it that he vowed to never love another women again, to never allow a member of the female race access to his heart. He keeps this site of him, this soft, gentle side that merely wants to be loved and respected locked deep down, away from where anyone can hurt it. He surrounds this soft side with a cold exterior of ice, locked behind impregnable black gates. But despite how much he tries, he cannot block this side completely. Whenever he is alone or a song comes on that reminds him of his lost love, he feels a horrible pang in his chest and will often start softly howling a forlorn tune of heartbreak and sadness. Loneliness. Anubis tells himself he does not feel it, that he does not need a mate... but the truth is... he does. Lone wolves never survive in the wild. They become depressed and die. He has made it this far, but how much farther can this lone wolf go before he breaks?

•• HISTORY ;;
The birth of this great deity was not the happiest of occasions. But let me start at the beginning, before Anubis was even conceived. It was the beginning of the First Dynasty of Egypt. Narmer Menes, the first pharaoh of a united Egypt, had married a young woman by the name of Neithhotep. They were married for a couple of years but Neithhotep did not bear him any children... So the pharaoh turned to find another means to make an heir. Narmer Menes had a brother named Rhejet who was married to Khenthap. Khenthap’s mother had been a princess from a Germanic province that had married into the Egyptian family for convenience. This made Khenthap half German and half Egyptian, but still highly revered among the Egyptian people. Narmer and Khenthap had a connection the first time they laid eyes on one another. It was no secret that they slept together. That didn’t mean that Narmer’s wife or Khenthap’s husband were okay with it. To make things more complicated, a few weeks after Khenthap’s pregnancy with the new heir was pronounced, Neithhotep declared that she herself was pregnant. Anubis’ half brother would be named Hor-Aha.
From the very beginning there was strife for the poor boy who was brought into a world where most people wanted him dead. He was technically the eldest son of the pharaoh, making him the rightful heir, but Neithhotep refused to have any of it and said that as Narmer’s wife, her son had the right. Khenthap of course stood up for her bastard son and said that since she was still royalty and they were all family, Anubis held the right. This fighting grew to both mothers attempting to poison the baby of the other. Luckily, none of the attempts succeeded. Whether by luck of the children or the stupidity of the mothers was never determined. Narmer was amused by them and thusly did very little to calm them, merely keeping an eye on them and making sure his heirs - he was so glad he had two now - were kept safe. He decided to let the women bicker and that he would watch the two boys grow up and see which would prove to be a better heir.
As a young child, these arguments between Neithhotep and Khenthap flew over Anu’s head. He was too busy hunting scarab beetles and roaming around as was typical of young boys to care much about politics or the fact that he got nasty looks from his father’s wife and his mother’s husband. But as Anu grew older and his education became more regimented, it became clear that he was the better choice for pharaoh. He was stronger and more quick witted than his half brother as well as more charismatic. Anu was more driven as well and really did his best to outshine his half brother who his mother told him was his rival and was trying to steal what was rightfully his. Anu was a bit of a cocky boy, always confident in his actions, and a bit of a show-off. But he also had the heart and mentality of a lion. Once he got his hands on something, he refused to let go of it. Everything he earned, everything he managed to get his hands on, he clung to with all his might. Khenthap may have saved him from death and given him the opportunity to show himself, but he always had to work twice as hard as Hor-Aha for his father’s affections as Hor-Aha was the pharaoh’s legitimate son and not a bastard child. The more Anu proved himself though, the more he was given in gifts and affection from his father.
Everything changed when Anubis was our equivalent of eighteen years old though. Anu had been sent out with a small troop to investigate rumors of bandits pilfering from some villages out in the desert. Upon arriving, they found the bandits and fought them, killing all of them and put an end to the problem... But on the way back, a meteor happened to fall on their camp while they slept. The meteor killed everyone except Anubis. The young man woke up confused and uncertain what had happened. Confusion became panic as he saw the dead charred bodies of all of his comrades, scorched and dead. The rancid scent made his eyes water and in a frantic abandon, Anu fled the scene. It did not take him long to discover that something horrible had happened to him. He now had a fluffy black tail as well as pointed long black ears that stuck out from his head. Horrified and confused, Anu spent the next few days wandering through the desert. He wanted to die out there and avoid having to face his father... for to him it was obvious what had happened. He had been cursed by the gods.
A few days after the incident, Anubis lay passed out in the sand. He would have died too if it hadn’t been for a traveling nomad who found him and picked him up and nurtured him back to health. This nomad was familiar with the rumors of supernatural beings but was more open minded than most. But his plans and Anu’s did not coincide and when the nomad wanted to cut Anu open to take a look at his anatomy, Anu killed him and fled. He had not escaped death in the desert to become fillet fish test subject for a poor nomad. Obviously he was meant to live though. Otherwise he wouldn’t still be breathing. Anubis spent several weeks wandering around the desert until he finally made his way back to Thinis, the capital of Egypt at the time. In the time he had been gone though, many things had changed. It hadn’t even been a month yet but his father and mother had both fallen ill with some odd disease and thusly Hor-Aha had succeeded through the throne in Anu’s absence since he had been assumed dead.
Shocked and depressed, Anubis left the city and found himself wandering around. He became a scavenger and was eventually adopted into a jackal family. He became part of their pack and was cared for by them and he protected them in return. It was odd to him that they seemed to actually like him, nuzzling him and such, but he supposed that he was part jackal now. Perhaps it was all just part of whatever he had become now. He still believed that his transformation was somehow a gift or curse from the gods, though which it was he wasn’t sure yet. Within a month or so of living with the jackals, he became more powerful and gained the ability to shift into a full on jackal, but a solid black one. At this point this jackal was still normal sized just an odd color. He became stronger, faster, and his endurance increased as well as gaining the ability to communicate with animals. In his time with the jackals, Anu became more dog than human in personality. His alpha side rose to rear it’s head and he became fiercely protective of those he cared about - at this time only the jackals which he had come to view as his pack and family.
After about a year had gone by, Anubis dared venture into humanity again. He had come to realize that... well... he wasn’t a jackal but a human and while the jackals had been a better family to him than anyone else had ever been, he desired something more. Returning to the human world was a little bit tough for him. He was used to be recognized and for people to move out of his way as he passed. He was used to people wishing him well. But then he remembered - everyone thought he was dead. Prince Anubis no longer existed. Giving up on that idea was difficult to him but he grew re-accustomed to life among humans. He no longer had animal appendages and could pass as a perfectly normal human unless he chose not to. With time, he moved back to the capital where he watched as the remaining of his family ruled Egypt.
A decade passed with very little change. Anubis had scavenged together enough wealth to live a comfortable life in Thenis. He had stopped aging he came to realize but did not have the need to move any time soon as he had only just settled into this new neighborhood. By this time he had gained even more powers - the ability to track people and control them as well as to heal himself and others and shield himself. He had also become able to transform into his jackal form and a new form - that of a different breed of jackal. Once again though, this form was completely black but with his pale green eyes. More time passed during which Anubis fought to gain more power, more wealth. People spoke about him, about how he had special powers and was a son of the gods. Anubis decided he rather liked this awe and he released his anger at losing his hold on the throne. Instead he focused on manipulating the people of Egypt, showing off his powers, telling them that he was the son of Ra, the god of gods. They began to name him Rameses, meaning son of Ra.
After about another decade or so had gone by, Anubis had become even more powerful and had become a deity to the people of Egypt. They called him Anubis, god of the dead. He inspired them to embalm and mummify their pharaohs and jackals became sacred to them as symbols of Anubis, protector and guide to the dead. The pharaohs, his distant relatives, did not know him for who he was and feared his power, giving him gifts and sacrifices to appease him. Anu enjoyed this role as god incredibly. No one dared defy him. He was all powerful. No one could stand up to him... But then a few more beings like himself showed up and Anubis found himself no longer the main deity of the Egyptians. This disappointment did not last long though. He had had his flings in the past, broken a couple hearts, pissed off some fathers, but no one had ever truly interested him... until he met her. She was an Egyptian princess who had recently become affected by the virus - he did not know that a virus was the cause of course. Her name was Bastet and she was a feline shapeshifter.
It was love at first site for Anubis. He had never wanted anything so badly in his life. It took some time but Anubis seduced and courted her until she submitted to him. She had a fiery temper and stood up to his alpha male who recognized her as his alpha mate. The fact that she was a cat and he a dog did not bother him or her. They fell madly in love with each other. They loved to play pranks on the Egyptian people together... but their happiness did not last. It was a freak accident. Bastet was still a newly leveled up order 3 being... she was battling with that feline grace Anu had grown to admire so... She turned and smiled at him, blood covering her fur. To him, that was incredibly sexy and he flashed her a toothy fanged smile... his power billowing around him as he took a moment to take her in in the middle of battle... and then... right before his eyes... a warrior decapitated her.
The bellow that tore from him was deafening. AN explosion crashed from him and every warrior on the battle field was blown back, many killed... But Anu didn’t care. His eyes were glued on the limp form of his mate. In a rampage he fought his way to her, slashing and hacking at anyone who got in his way. When he reached her, tears were blinding him and he dropped to his knees beside her body. He shook with rage and threw his head back, releasing a mournful howl. What happened after that is no more than a blur to Anu. It was like his heart had been torn out and removed when Bastet had been killed. He felt nothing... numb on the inside. Centuries passed. Nothing mattered to him anymore. His soulmate had died... There were many women that followed her, women he tried to forget himself in... but no one worked. They all meant nothing to him.
Centuries went by. In 1295 BC, Anubis tried to spice things up by appointing himself pharaoh of Egypt. He went by the name Ramesses I and started the 19th dynasty of Egypt, hoping to entertain himself for a while. After a mere five years he became bored though. Before he faked his death, he bore a child with his queen consort named Sitre. They named the child Seti I. His son would become the next pharaoh. A few years later, he did it again, returning as Ramesses II, pretending to be the son of his son. As Ramesses II, he ruled Egypt from 1279 to 1213 BC. This time he was much more promiscuous, taking several cosorts - Nefertari, Isetnofret, Maathorneferure, Meritamen, Bintanath, Nebettawy, and Henutmire - and sired several children with them - Amun-her-khepsef, Prince Ramesses, Pareherwenemef, Khaemweset, Merneptah, Meryatum, Bintanath, Meritamen, and Nebettawy. This entertained him for a while but he became bored once more and faked another death.
In the centuries since then he has done very little, mainly just entertained himself by playing tricks on humans and toying with them. It brought him brief pleasure but he still felt dead inside. Several more centuries passed... He went by many names in his life time - Anubis, Anu, Bakari, Khaldun, Ienpw, Anpu, Anup, Rameses, and Ramesses to name a few. In his life he became a fighter, a hunter, a thief, an assassin, a business CEO, as well as... well... a badass. he had been an Egyptian Prince and then a Pharaoh and then a God. Now, he considers himself an Egyptian noble and spends his time earning money, playing around, putting on a playful light exterior while hiding a broken core. He sometimes becomes depressed and moody, even aggressive, towards others and has been known to drink away his sorrows with expensive liquors and fiery women that remind him of Bastet. When the meteor shower of 2012 occurred, he thought very little of it and cared nothing for their trifles. Now and again he still interferes in the lives of the weak but mainly he has been keeping to himself of late.
