Standing at a rather average five foot five inches, Seraphina is anything other than average mentally but that’s for another time. She weighs only a few pounds below one hundred and thirty pounds with a slim and fit build. She is Caucasian in skin tone, likely indicating that somewhere in her heritage is the heavy influence of ancestors from some Northern European country or countries. Her hair is blonde but sometimes has darker roots from time to time as she wishes. Like the sweet southern girl she was raised to be Sera dresses adorably most often in comfortable jeans, shorts, blouses, and sundresses. Some of her favorite jewelry is a locket she was left with as a babe and additionally several simple pieces that mostly were gifts throughout the years. Rarely does she dress flashily however her alternate personality, Gwyn, on the other hand prefers appearance over comfort and dresses much sleeker and flashier than the personality that was deemed Sera’s normal one. She doesn’t mind showing skin, not that Sera’s super modest but Gwyn has much looser morals it would seem. Her ears were pierced by her own choice and so was her belly button however Seraphina’s single tattoo was a product of her alternate personality’s, who is still a part of herself but sometimes it’s almost easier to treat them like two people. Gwyn is much more ruthless and one night had the tattoo of a glock 26 9 mm. handgun tattooed upon her inner wrist, on the dominant hand for her normal personality. When in her Sera personality, she is left handed, however when in her Gwyn personality she if right handed instead.

As a lamiai she has gained the ability to shift into the form of a snake, specifically an enlarged version of a black mamba. Her lamiai form is that of a woman’s head and chest combined with the lower half of a snake. Her snake body is coated in glossy black scales that shimmer in light and measures at about nine feet in length. Lamiai are known to be a bit vampiric in nature and revel in the activity of drinking the blood of other beings. So to aid her in this activity she additionally gains the fangs of a black mamba. However Seraphina herself does not gain supernatural nutrition or any type of enhancement from blood it is merely a common activity of the lamiai. However Gwyn finds herself grotesquely amused by this particular act.

For starters I might as well mention her… personality disorder I suppose. Seraphina has multiple personality disorder, or DID which stands for dissociative identity disorder. The personality which was determined to be her more natural state of mind is that when she goes by her given name of Seraphina or variations upon it. However her second personality goes by the name of Gwyn, her legal middle name.

Seraphina Personality;;
This personality of hers is a rather charming and caring one full of Southern belle charm. With a sweet and welcoming outside she almost always is the first to offer help or a place to stay if someone needs it. Raised to act properly she enjoys cooking and is nearly obsessive about keeping her home nice and clean. While she is a kind woman she has a little fireball within. Pain and sorrow riddle her mind and she longs for a day when she might be able to obtain custody of her young daughter. However in order to do so a relatively secure cure must be found for DID, dissociative identity disorder. So determined to both understand her disorder and assist in the research she has delved into her studies in her free time, not only for that single reason but learning had actually been something she had enjoyed. When confronted she is not one to take strong offensive reaction but will sass whoever is doing so and if forced to will take action. On the other hand if anyone nears her family or loved ones she will stop at nothing to protect them, especially when it comes to her daughter despite not being a part of her life. Yet she experiences major moments and stretches of depression from seeing pictures or other things that relate to her daughter, and often can draw away from everyone in her life during these times. As a child and teenager Sera often had next to no one to confide in or spend time with other than her adoptive family. Therefore she craves and revels in any interaction she has with others as it makes her feel more normal, that is if they don’t treat her like an interloper or the odd one out. Animals were always a love of hers and especially horses as she grew up on a farm and whenever she felt at her lowest she could retreat to spend time with horses, who she couldn’t sense any judgment from. Upon switching to her alternate personality she had no memory of ‘Gwyn’s’ actions and it feels as if she had blacked out during these periods of time.

Gwyn Personality;;
Alternately Gwyn holds no emotion or compassion for others and is most easily described as a homicidal bitch. Oh sure she might eventually grow to be able to care for someone, however they could have to be rather crazy, ruthless, and well dark themselves. She knows and loves handguns, and truly most weapons, and actually enjoys harming others. Skilled at shooting and sneaking around she has both killed for her own purposes as well as been hired out a few times as a type of assassin. She takes nobody’s bullshit and will openly oppose verbally and physically to things that she finds as an act against her. She is a very violent and well… cruel. Any emotion that she entertains is definitely volatile and strong, usually along the lines of anger, revenge, or amusement. That’s one of the things she enjoys, toying with others minds and being amused at people’s actions sometimes. She is rather reckless and doesn’t give a crap whether she is in danger or not or does something she, or the ‘Seraphina’ personality may regret or despise. She is rash though and very short tempered as well as impatient. Gwyn not only is cruel and cold but enjoys all that life has to offer, often enjoying the city scene more than the ‘Seraphina’ personality. Pain would most likely only incite her own excitement as she has no qualms about it and actually is most of the time pleased or intrigued by the sight of blood, even if it’s her own as long as it’s not too much of her own. This personality tends to additionally show a hatred for the other as she does like how to quote her, ‘wimpy’ Seraphina is. Gwyn is often drawn out by violence or if placed in a desperate situation in addition to often coming out at nighttime when she does emerge, although not necessarily every night and does have her moments in the daytime now and again.

Seraphina’s biological mother was a drug addict, she spent nearly every penny she had ever owned on drugs as long as she could remember, which really may not have been as long as she thought. She went around in shady alleys, as cliché as it sounds, giving the dealers wad after wad of cash for her fix. Just about anything would do, cocaine to horse tranquilizers to meth, anything to help her forget, forget everything. She put nearly every type of drug in her system at some point, to try and temporarily escape, so to those few that actually knew her it was no surprise that her life was cut short by an overdose. Her drug problem had been brought on by a depressing past, including a hateful family and an abusive father. And the drugs didn’t make her life any better, instead she was in a heavy daze all of the time not really knowing where she was at any time. Sleeping around with any number of men, who knew how many she had no clue herself. She ended up living in group homes and just out on the streets.

Well she did not even realize that she was pregnant until she could barely fit in her clothes well anymore and came to see that her belly was slightly rounded out. This thought brought her slightly out of her continual stupor and finding a free clinic the woman went in for a checkup. To be safe she gave them a fake name and everything that way if they did try to do anything about her drug use she wouldn’t be overly connected to the appointment. Upon hearing the actual news that she was in fact pregnant she was shocked but couldn’t help but continue with her drug habits throughout the pregnancy, although somewhat decreased but only slightly. When she finally gave birth to a baby girl she literally left Seraphina wrapped in a filthy shirt on a park bench, as horrible or fictitious it sounds.

Being born to a mother that was so addicted Seraphina herself was born a drug baby, a baby who craved and actually needed drugs to survive. She was a preemie to boot due to her mother’s addiction and unhealthily small. Luckily Marie Cambell had been in the city where she had been left on the bench and happened across the infant Sera as she had returned to her hotel after a brisk walk early the next morning, several hours after her actual mother had abandoned her. Appalled by the state in which the young child had been left Marie had taken the girl to a hospital, watching and waiting as doctors cared for the child. Soon enough her two young sons and husband joined Marie in her waiting game and soon the entire family was caught up in whether the baby would survive or not. In the end Seraphina was stabilized and placed upon a steady stream of drugs, as they slowly weaned her off of them over the course of several weeks in order to avoid shocking the fragile infant’s system with withdrawal effects. Finally she was in a stable condition and well enough to need nothing more than an oxygen tube while she slept at night and the Cambells, ingrossed in her recovery, decided to take the infant home and eventually adopt her into their own family, unaware of what was to come.

Growing up Seraphina was always alone it seemed as she tended to act ‘strange’ according to the other children on the playground. The only constant companions she could count on were her adoptive brothers who were always very protective and caring towards her. However her younger adoptive sister was a contradiction to their actions as she often treated Sera as an interloper, almost as if she was jealous of the attention the charming young child received. As she got older however it became apparent that Seraphina had some mental issue as she had random outbursts of violence and outrage before suddenly calming down and having no clue what she had done through these episodes. The Cambells adored their only adopted child, for the other three were their biological children, and were concerned by this and by the time she was nine had her observed and diagnosed. It took a while however by the time she was twelve she was diagnosed affirmatively with DID, or dissociative identity disorder, also known as multiple personality disorder. Struggling with this, she often stuck with remaining on the farm she lived upon, only leaving for necessary study session with local teachers after regular school hours. Luckily she was a naturally bright child however and was able to graduate from high school within the same time frame as many students her age. Many times she became frustrated or depressed over her life and took retreat in riding horses out into the woods and local countryside, gaining a fondness for the creatures.

After high school Seraphina became nearly obsessed with learning about the mind and disorders of the mind. Setting out on what was likely to be a futile effort she tried to learn all she could in hopes some day she might be able to attribute to finding an actual cure for DID, so that she might actually feel normal once more. Online she attended college and worked on a double major in both Psychiatrics and Molecular Biology. Due to her struggles and the complexity of the work it took Seraphina nearly six years however she recently graduated and began research several months ago on what could be called molecular psychiatrics, especially where it was concerned with multiple personality disorder.

Around the time she was twenty Sera became infatuated with a local man a few years older than herself, who knew all about her disorder and began to date her despite that fact, dealing with it when her Gwyn personality randomly popped up. Things became serious between the couple and he seemed to truly care for her however things were tense with how her alternate personality would treat him when she emerged and additionally just how Sera had to live her life in certain aspects. Then, much to everyone’s shock and surprise Seraphina found herself pregnant at the young age of twenty one. She knew for a fact that while in her ‘Gwyn’ state she could be rather promiscuous, not that she ever revealed this to her serious boyfriend, but just had a feeling that it was her boyfriend’s child and not some random stranger’s, instinct. He knew however how difficult it would be to have a child with Sera and overwhelmed had left her. Through all of this time she continued to live in the spacious home of her adoptive parents as they supported her through everything.

So at the age of twenty two Seraphina gave birth to a perfectly healthy baby girl, rather surprising to herself considering everything. The hospital and authorities however deemed her as an unsafe mother due to her alternate personality’s, Gwyn’s, ‘violent tendencies’. This sent the young woman into a downward spiral and she mourned the forced loss of her child from her, sent into the system and up for adoption nearly immediately after her birth. Sera attempted to find a home for her daughter with someone of her family however thanks to the fact that she was still within her parents’ home her daughter, Jami, was not allowed to live with them and her brothers neither had the proper environment or resources to adopt the child. So only mere weeks after her birth Jami was adopted into the care of a loving family. Standing in the background she watched as a stunningly nice wife and husband took her child home, paining her the entire time. It was probably even more painful as Sera actually wanted to keep her child and knowing that her daughter would grow up to love them and not her. The couple was nice and began to send emails and a steady stream of pictures to Sera and her family of Jami, however often these sent her into a depression so deep she secluded herself from everyone within her life for days on end, as she didn’t even have a choice to see her daughter, she had never even held her thanks to the idiotic nurses and doctors in the hospital.

The couple who had adopted Jami offered Sera the opportunity to visit and watch Jami however the one time she had taken them up on the offer the couple had seemed completely on edge and wary of her, as if she would snap and act crazy with her own child. So after that tense situation they rarely ever had offered the chance again and Sera had not desired to be near them anytime soon. However the emails and pictures continued, ripping a hole through Sera’s heart as they filled her with joy at the same time. This pain and sadness though spurred her further to continue with her studying in hopes that someday, possibly, she could have custody of her own child, however unlikely it was that she could find a cure. In her quest she overworked herself nearly to the point of sickness several times over the next couple of years.

Over the years, long before she had given birth to Jami even, her ‘Gwyn’ personality had actually been growing in her fondness for harming others. She had seriously injured several people and even murdered them once or twice over the years, all the time keeping such activities from her adopted family’s notice. She had found it further and further appealing to do such things. Even when she had lost custody of her daughter they hadn’t thought she was so violent merely held such potential and had shown somewhat violent tendencies. Eventually her Gwyn side even hired herself out as an assassin a few times, often drawing the Sera personality in on it as well with deadlines and the inability to control the personality switching.

Each personality began to keep a journal years ago, much to the Gwyn personality’s dismay, so as to notify the other personality of any major events or people within their life, since it was practically as if each personality held their own life but only when on top and in control. Then Sera heard news about a year ago that her daughter’s adoptive family was moving out to Britain, a slight distance form the city of London. She had already found herself travelling for research and business and decided to begin renting an apartment in London so as to every now and then sneak in and watch her baby girl. The news of the virus’ release and people’s mutating spread quickly and Sera was shocked by such occurrences, almost afraid that it might affect her young child, even though at the same time she was intrigued. She was interested by how the creatures she imagined as a young child were becoming real however at the same time she worried for her safety and her child’s as well as what this would mean to the world. She was focusing on her research in molecular psychiatrics and especially in respect to DID however after the recent meteor showers of 2012 she had been recruited to work as a scientist on a vaccine to lessen the spread and contraction of mutation. Even as her Gwyn side continues to create hectic mayhem in her path Sera now works like this in the United States.

However Seraphina herself awoke one late July morning this year to find that when she moved to get out of her bed a gigantic snake tail had replaced her legs as well as the fact that two large fangs pierced her lips, causing herself to bleed. Unfortunately the United State of America had become a hunter country, focused on eradicating every last mutant no matter their nature. So now she hides her new form, hides what she is, and hopes to hell that no one will ever rat her out to her own country. Often she stays with her adoptive family in Alabama however recently she’s been finding herself out in Europe quite often for some odd reason or another.
