Hi all,
I think the Sally Yates testimony and what it means for the investigations about possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia and/or Russian compromising Trump staff and/or Russian cyber attacks on the American Democratic process deserve their own thread and not be buried in the misc. soap box thread.
I for one am always dismayed, never surprised, to see how most Republicans keep on carrying waters for the Trump administration. I fear the only path to a real and serious investigation with teeth is a democratic majority in either the Senate or the House in 2018...
We'll never get the republicans to pay anything but lip service to the issue and certainly not appoint an independent commission.
What I don't really get is what the Republican's plan is here. This is not going away, they can't stonewall it into oblivion. Hell, it's going to be a gigantic albatros around their necks next year since the democrats will have a easy time portraying themselves as patriots willing to fight for the US and investigate Russia... They might as well bite the bitter pill and get on with it.
